A forum for beginners and experts alike to find answers to their supply chain questions, sourced from SupplierWiki’s growing community of users.
Context
The supply chain industry is extremely complicated, and a lot of its knowledge is passed through individuals, rather than online. We wanted to create an experience on our site that facilitates this knowledge transfer in a way that benefits as many people as possible.
The project had one constraint: while any user can browse the forum, they must create a free account to ask questions and provide answers.
Process
I started by deeply researched two forum sites, Reddit and Quora, evaluating their audiences, features, and systems. Then, I analyzed their value in light of our users’ needs and began building a core process and system that was optimized for professional discourse, rather than general discussion.
The result is a lean yet robust community forum reminiscent of Reddit, but with the streamlined focus of a professional tool.
